In 1919, at the age of 12, Eugene Hoffman started a lawn-mowing maintenance company serving Bay View and Petoskey. That youthful passion and vision expanded into a landscape company that has served northern Michigan for three generations.

Richard, Eugene’s youngest son, worked alongside his father, and then his older brother, as the family business grew, offering exceptional landscape services throughout the region. In 2003, Richard established Richard Hoffman Landscaping, and built on his family’s legacy, developing a thriving nursery of evergreens, deciduous trees and perennials, while continuing to create beautiful, functional landscapes.

Clark was inducted into the family business at an early age, pulling weeds at client homes (with whom he still maintains a relationship with to this day), and working as a crew member, and later as a foreman, in the school summers. After attending college and living Australia, Clark returned to Petoskey in 2017 to become his father’s business partner. Now, Clark and his wife Emily operate Clark Hoffman Landscaping, maintaining a commitment to excellence and beauty in providing landscape design, install and maintenance services to clients across Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Otsego and Antrim counties – and take their kids, Ben and Eleanor, along for the ride.
